22 veterans take their lives every day in the United States. That’s over 8,000 lives every year that are lost in the transition from the military to civilian life.

FitOps is an organization whose sole mission is to reverse those statistics through improving physical and mental health. The goal is to give veterans a sense of purpose and self-worth through fitness. Veterans, in their transition out of the military, struggle with reintegration into the civilian population. One of the main struggles is finding that sense of purpose again.  FitOps opens the door for this to be a veteran’s reality again by teaching them the business behind being a personal trainer while also giving them a space to train with other veterans. FitOps Camp is a 3 week camp where veterans are trained to become CVFO’s (Certified Veteran Fitness Operative) to be able to work as a personal trainer in gyms across the country.

Fit-Ops statistics

-0% suicide rate amongst FitOps graduates.

-96% of veterans who enroll inFitOps go on to become successful CVFOs.

-With the current funding, just 25% of veterans waiting to join the program can be accepted.

To help raise money to give veterans the opportunity to join FitOps, I will be running the Twin Cities Marathon on October 1st, 2022 with a goal of sub 3 hours 30 min. All donations will go towards transportation of veterans to the camp, food and lodging, as well as funding the 3-week camp.
